Troy Traffic Jam Returns August 2, Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary

Troy, Michigan — The Troy Traffic Jam, the region's largest car show and community fundraiser, is back for its 18th year on Saturday, August 2, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Columbia Center, 201 W. Big Beaver Rd. The free, family-friendly event benefits the educational programs of Troy Historic Village and is expected to draw thousands of visitors and more than 300 show cars.

This year's theme, "America's 250th," celebrates two and a half centuries of American innovation, industry, and automotive heritage, with a lineup that spans Model T's to modern exotics, patriotic vehicles, and historic military transport.

A Day Built Around Cars — and Community

Admission is free, with a suggested $5 parking donation that also enters attendees into a $500 cash raffle. The show floor will feature more than 300 registered vehicles, including a 1905 Cadillac Osceola, a 1929 Duesenberg Murphy Model J Convertible Coupe, a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette, and a 1964½ Ford Mustang, alongside patriotic and military vehicles honoring the anniversary theme.

The day kicks off at 9 a.m. as the show floor opens, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. and a historic World War II C-47 flyover courtesy of the Michigan Flight Museum. Beyond the cars, guests can enjoy:

• Gallagher Tech Talks Series — live conversations with automotive industry leaders, designers, and racing legends
• FIRST Robotics demonstrations from Troy school teams
• Racing simulators courtesy of Trackilicious
• Automotive art and design vendors
• A Kids Zone with games, face painting, and a scavenger hunt
• Food vendors, live entertainment by DJ ChaChi, and community booths from Troy Police and Fire

Tech Talks Bring Industry Legends to the Stage

A highlight of the day is the Gallagher Tech Talks Series, running hourly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sessions include a comparison of the 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 440 Six-Pak and the 2023 Super Stock Challenger with Direct Connection's Paul Rossi, Tony Mandella, and Chuck Spieser; a look back at Ford's Le Mans-winning GT program with designers Moray Callum and Garen Nicoghosian; a preview of Corvette's new 2027 Grand Sport and Grand Sport X with Chief Engineer Josh Holder; a retrospective on the 2001 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona with Kelly Collins and Gary Claudio, featuring the famous No. 3 Corvette C5-R on loan from the National Corvette Museum; and stories from racing legends David Hobbs and Roger Bailey. Autographs follow each session.

Kids Pedal Power 200

Young racers can take part in the Kids Pedal Power 200, the final pedal car race of the summer, held near the Info Tent. Check-in closes at 12:30 p.m., with racing beginning at 1:30 p.m. Every participant receives a medal and a treat, and top finishers take home trophies.

Raffles and Closing Ceremonies

Throughout the day, attendees can purchase tickets for a 50/50 raffle, a prize raffle featuring ten auto-related prize packages worth $150 or more, and the $500 parking cash raffle. Closing ceremonies begin at 2:30 p.m. with the final raffle drawings and the announcement of the Troy Traffic Jam Awards, followed by the show's close at 3 p.m.

Registration and Details

Car owners can pre-register for $30 (day-of registration is $35, subject to availability), with swag bags guaranteed for the first 300 registered cars. A 2026 Troy Traffic Jam T-shirt is available for $25 with pre-registration. Out-of-town visitors can find discounted rates at the nearby Hotel Indigo for the nights of August 1 and 2.

The event is presented by Kirco, hosted at the Columbia Center, and supported by dozens of sponsors including Gallagher Global Brokerage, S-Tier, Horizon Bank, City of Cars, and Hour Detroit Magazine, among others.
