Denby High School Girls Basketball Update 12/31/2025

The Denby High School girls varsity basketball team has proven to be one of the toughest defensive units in the city through the opening weeks of the 2025-26 season. While the Tars currently sit at 0-4, the record doesn't tell the whole story. In three of their four contests, Denby has held opponents to under 30 points, including a heartbreaking 18-17 loss to Northwestern and a 14-18 defensive struggle against Detroit Central.

Coach B. Sullivan’s squad reached a new offensive milestone in their most recent outing against East English Village Prep, putting up a season-high 39 points. As the Tars prepare for a heavy slate of league games in January, the focus remains on pairing that burgeoning offense with their already established defensive prowess.
